Music Moments Episode 9: Cruel Intentions

All in all I would say that Cruel Intentions is just a ''good'' film. I like the plot and I like the characters. But the last seven minutes of the film are epic! The music, the acting and the overall look of the scene is great and I think it helps to make the film just that much better.  There's nothing I like more than a music montage at the end of a film and I think Cruel Intentions has one of the best. Like it's right up there with ''The Breakfast Club''.

Just to point out, another thing I love about Cruel Intentions is the chemistry the cast have! and to be honest the cast are stellar. I mean you've got Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe who are falling in love on and off screen. Sarah Michelle Gellar aka Buffy Summers playing a bitch. And lets not forget Pacey Witter (Joshua Jackson) and Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius) having secret sex with each other. EPIC!

But let's get back to this ending scene shall we... First it uses the song which basically defined the 90s! The music video for the song is already awsome but I think if they'd used the cruel intentions ending montage it would have been just as good.

Name of Film: Cruel Intentions

Song Featured: Bittersweet Symphony

Artist: The Verve

Favourite Lyrics: 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life. Try to make ends meet, you're a slave to money then you die

Favourite Moment:  When Sarah Michelle Gellar opens the doors to the courtyard and the music reaches it's loudest point definitely adds drama to the scene. and let's not forget the picture of Sebastian smirking, not only is it gorgeous but it feels like he's laughing at her situation.

But the most epic part of this music moment is Reese Witherspoon driving Sebastian's car with the New York City skyline in the background. Reese epitomises badass in this scene and I think every girl even guy who's seen the film or even the clip wants to be ''Annette Hargrove''.

I also have to point out how beautiful the clips were of Sebastian and Annette's brief but wonderful relationship. They were perfect together on screen and in real life. It really is a shame some things don't work out.
